Project for the Conversion of Fuel Oil Tanks to Diesel Oil Tanks at Istanbul Natural Gas Power Plants

The Istanbul Natural Gas Power Plants Operation Directorate's A and B plants are dual-fuel facilities, capable of operating with diesel oil as a secondary fuel in case of disruptions in natural gas supply.

Considering the plant’s strategic socio-economic location and the need to ensure electricity supply security in the region, a project was initiated to convert the existing fuel oil tanks (A, B, C, D, L, and Slop), located within the premises of the Istanbul Natural Gas Power Plants Operation Directorate, into diesel oil storage tanks — in addition to the existing diesel tanks.

A contract regarding this project was signed with TEMSAN Inc. General Directorate on July 7, 2022, and all related works were completed. The Provisional Acceptance of the project was officially finalized on May 7, 2025.
