Alaçatı Wind Power Plant Renewal Project with National and Domestic Wind Turbines
The Alaçatı Wind Power Plant, located in the Alaçatı region of Çeşme district, İzmir province, has an installed capacity of 7.2 MW (12 x 0.6 MW). A renewal project has been initiated based on the following key considerations:
• Inefficient use of wind potential at the site due to the existing turbines' significantly lower efficiency compared to modern technologies,
• Inability to procure spare parts and consumables owing to the obsolete technology of the current turbines,
• The need to maximize the efficiency and utilization of the site's wind potential and its existing grid connection infrastructure.
As a result of comprehensive evaluation studies, a contract was signed with ASELSAN Inc. for the implementation of the project titled “Renewal of Alaçatı WPP with Locally Manufactured Wind Turbines”. This was carried out under the provisions of Article 3-U (“Exceptions”) of the Public Procurement Law No. 4734, and within the scope of the "Procedures and Principles Regarding the Implementation of Industrial Cooperation Projects (ICP)", which entered into force through Presidential Decree No. 36 dated 16.08.2018.
