The MIL-KANAT project, initiated to locally manufacture turbine blades for natural gas-fired thermal power plants using national resources, has reached a significant milestone. Previously designed and produced, 64 moving blades and 51 fixed blades were successfully installed by our own personnel on the third stage of the gas turbine pilot unit selected at Istanbul Ambarlı Natural Gas Power Plant. Following installation, the unit completed 8,000 hours of trial operation and performance testing with great success.

These turbine blades, which represent a first in Turkey as a high-tech industrial product, demonstrated their reliability by passing the performance tests after the 8,000-hour trial period with outstanding results.

With the MIL-KANAT project, the procurement of high-technology and engineering-intensive gas turbines and equipment from foreign manufacturers will no longer be a necessity. Thanks to the successful completion of the MIL-KANAT Project, Turkey will reduce its dependency on imports and improve its current account deficit. Additionally, material-related production losses in our power plants will be minimized, thereby contributing significantly to supply security.

In line with its objectives to develop domestic industry and technology, increase employment, and most importantly, retain financial resources within the country, EÜAŞ will continue to fully support such domestic projects with all available means.
