KILIÇKAYA HEPP

Kılıçkaya Dam and Hydroelectric Power Plant was built on Kelkit Stream, in the east of Sivas province, 25 km from Suşehri district and 7 km from Giresun-Şebinkarahisar highway. It has a total installed power of 120 MW with 2 generators, each of which is 60 MW, and its annual generation capacity is estimated as 332 million kWh.

The construction of Kılıçkaya Dam and Hydroelectric Power Plant, located in the Yeşilırmak Basin, started in 1981, and the 1st Group in 1990 and the 2nd Group in 1991 were put into operation.

The body height of the dam, which was built in clay core rock fill type, is 132.5 m and the crest length is 405 m. At the maximum water level, the lake volume is 1,260 hm³ and the lake area is 64 km².
