ÇAYIRHAN LIGNITE FIELD

The total licensed area of Çayırhan Lignite Basin in Ankara is 104,209 hectares. Çayırhan-Beypazarı Lignite Basin Field is divided into 2 sectors as the Field I and Field II.

Çayırhan Field I

Çayırhan Lignite Field was taken into operation to meet the coal needs of Çayırhan Thermal Power Plant with an installed power of 620 MW, and coal supply to the power plant started on 01.06.1987. In the Çayırhan Lignite Field, which has the most modern technology in our country, approximately 5 million tons of coal is produced annually with the fully mechanized return long pier underground operation method.

Within the scope of the Concession Agreement, the operating right of Çayırhan Lignite Field was transferred to the Company in charge for 20 years on 30.06.2000.

According to the report prepared by our organization in 2018, the remaining reserve amount of the field is 159.8 million tons on an out-of-date basis, and the average coal calorie is 1.530 Kcal/kg.

 

Çayırhan Field II

In order to establish a Thermal Power Plant in Çayırhan-II Lignite Field and to operate the mine site with the transfer of operating rights, the Transfer of Operating Rights Agreement (İHDS) was signed on 11.07.2017 and the works are continued by the Company, which received the tender. According to the report prepared by the company, the operable reserve of the field is 140 million tons and the average coal calorie is 1,971 Kcal/kg. The installed power of the power plant planned to be built in the region is 800 MW.
