YÜREĞİR HEPP
Yuregir HEPP was built on the left bank irrigation canal of Seyhan in the city center of Adana. The power of Yuregir Hydroelectric Power Plant is 6 MW (1x6 MW) and it was predicted that it would produce 20 million kWh of energy during the 6-month irrigation season.
Yuregir Hydroelectric Power Plant, located in the Seyhan Basin, was put into operation in April 1972 and realized its first generation in the same year.
The reason for the establishment of Yuregir Hydroelectric Power Plant is the production of energy from the water used for irrigation. Yuregir Hydroelectric Power Plant, which is a canal type power plant, is driven by a vertical axis tiger type turbine operating under 8 m head and 87 m³/sec flow rate.
