LIMESTONE FIELDS

Limestone Fields under the responsibility of our Licensing Law Institution are operated in accordance with the Mining Law No. 3213 amended by Law No. 6592. Information on the limestone fields (Çanakkale/Çan Limestone Field, Ankara-Nallıhan-Çayırhan Acıbaşı Limestone Field, Kahramanmaraş-Elbistan Mırmırındere Limestone Field) which are still under the responsibility of our Licensing Law Institution is given below.

1) Çanakkale/Çan Limestone Field

As a result of the tender held by MAPEG for the supply of the limestone requirement of Çanakkale 18 Mart Çan Thermal Power Plant, 3 II-C group limestone fields were purchased and the registration procedures of the licenses of the given fields on our Corporation have been completed.

Studies are carried out to prepare the resource report of the limestone presence in the given limestone fields at international standards. In order to meet the limestone needs of Çanakkale 18 Mart Çan Thermal Power Plant, studies are continuing to open the given fields for mining activities.

2) Ankara-Nallıhan-Çayırhan Acıbaşı Limestone Field

The limestone needed by the Çayırhan Thermal Power Plant Flue Gas Sulfur Treatment Plant is obtained from this field. The area of ​​the field is 181 hectares and 572.000 tons of limestone was produced in the field in 2018. As of the end of 2018, the apparent reserve is 26,860,529 tons. Operational activities in the field are carried out by the Company in charge within the scope of the transfer of operating right of Çayırhan Thermal Power Plant.

3) Kahramanmaraş - Elbistan Mırmırındere Limestone Field

Limestone needed by the Flue Gas Sulfur Treatment Plant of Afşin-Elbistan B Thermal Power Plant is obtained from the Mırmırındere limestone field. The area of ​​the field is 116.69 hectares and as of the end of 2018, there are 28.162.050 tons of limestone resources.
