BURSA NATURAL GAS COMBINED CYCLE POWER PLANT
For the construction of the power plant, environmental, economic and technical evaluations were made and Ovaakça Village in Bursa province was selected in 1993. An international tender was made for Bursa Natural Gas Combined Cycle Power Plant on 26.12.1994.
The power plant with an installed power of 1,432 MW was established for purposes such as meeting the current electrical energy demand in Southern Marmara and especially Bursa region with the least loss and in the most economical way, when taken into account the increase in energy demand in the region, being able to respond to this need in the medium term, providing healthier and uninterrupted energy to the industrial establishments in the region, increasing the stabilization opportunity in the system by reducing the losses and providing new job opportunities for the increasing population in the short and long term. The 4x239 + 2x238 = 1432 MW Power Plant was put into operation in 1998-1999. The nominal annual production capacity of the power plant is 10,017,000,000 kWh.
