BERKE HEPP
Berke Dam and Hydroelectric Power Plant was built on the Ceyhan River between the provincial borders of Osmaniye and Kahramanmaraş, 50 km from Osmaniye and 140 km from Adana. It has a total installed power of 510 MW with its 3 generators, each of which is 170 MW, and its annual generation capacity is predicted as 1.669.000.000 kWh.
The construction of the Berke Dam and Hydroelectric Power Plant, located in the Ceyhan Basin, started in 1991 and started to hold water on September 8, 2001, and in January 2002, energy production began.

The body volume of the dam, which was built in the double curvature thin concrete arch type, is 750,000 m³, the body height is 201 m, and the crest length is 270 m. At maximum water level, the lake volume is 427 hm³ and the lake length is 30 km. There is no irrigation purpose due to the geographical conditions and location of the dam.
